On 10th May 2017 members of Composites UK gathered at our 11th annual general meeting held at Warwick Manufacturing Group.
As well as an overview of the progress that had taken place at the Association over the last 12 months, members were presented with plans going forward into 2018 and beyond.
The main updates were as follows:
- In the immediate future, the strategic plan is focussed on growing the size and reputation of Composites UK through representation/lobbying and contributing to the discussion on standards affecting the industry.
- A slight raise in membership rates will be implemented from 1st July. This enables us to continue increasing and improving the range of services provided to member companies including…
- Free access to the Hub Maps tool for members, enabling companies to visualise the UK composites supply chain in real time.
- A new chairman in Dr. Faye Smith of Avalon Consultancy. Faye will head up the Association for the next year, whilst Axon Automotive’s Chris Taylor steps into the role of vice chair. Re-elected onto the Board of Directors were Prof. Peter Chivers of the National Composites Centre, Ben Wilson of MPM Ltd and Dr. Clara Frias of AMRC. Newly elected was John Doyle of Millfield Composites Group.
We are looking forward to seeing where the next 12 months takes us and our member companies.
