In an effort to encourage knowledge transfer between OEMs/Tier 1 companies and the composites supply chain, Composites UK has announced the programme for its next sector showcase event.
This will look at the opportunities and challenges of using fibre-reinforced polymer composites in the aerospace industry and will take place on 6th December in the Knowledge Transfer Centre of AMRC in Rotherham. The key topics covered are; The Aerospace Industry - The Big Picture; Technology Strategy; Composites in the Aerospace Supply Chain; and finally, case studies from some Composites UK member companies already developing products and services for use by the aerospace industry.
Companies who are lined up to speak include Achieving the Difference; ADS Group; AMRC with Boeing; Composite Innovations; Composite Integration; GKN Aerospace Services; Heraeus Noblelight; Ipeco; M. Wright and Sons; Metrology Software Products; North West Aerospace Alliance; and TenCate Advanced Composites. More speakers will be announced over the course of the next month.
Composites UK’s Communication Manager, Claire Whysall, said; “Our members asked us to provide more opportunities for them to ‘meet-the-buyer’ which has meant a natural progression of our sector showcase events. This is the first time we have focussed on the aerospace industry and working with other associations and networks such as the Northwest Aerospace Alliance and the ADS Group has given us an invaluable link to the aerospace industry which our members can now feed into.”
“These sector showcase events attract up to 100 delegates and are accompanied by table-top exhibition spaces. More than half of these spaces have already been sold showing just how essential our members feel this event will be.”
Both registration and table-top exhibition space is open to Composites UK members and non-members here. Discounts on both are also offered to members of the Northwest Aerospace Alliance.
