Composites UK, the trade association for the UK composites industry, has launched an annual report detailing the growth and changes of its supply chain.
The Association began collating data in 2014 with the launch of The Hub, the UK’s composites capabilities database. Claire Whysall, Communications Manager at Composites UK said: “We started The Hub several years ago with a view to one-day publishing detailed reports on the UK composites supply chain. Of course, in order to be able to show growth trends we needed to allow time to collate the data, and then in turn analyse this.”
It was Charlotte White, Supply Chain Relationship Manager for the Association who undertook the task of compiling the report. Charlotte adds: “This new annual report has been created to demonstrate the value of The Hub and showcase the UK composites supply chain. We will use this data to support future initiatives and events, and to better understand the needs of the composites sector.”
The report includes:
- Businesses on the Composites UK Hub
- Companies by Region
- Local Enterprise Partnerships
- Companies by Primary Market
- Companies by Specialism
- Specialism by Region
- Specialisms in Different Markets
- Primary Markets and Regions
Finally Composites UK’s CEO, David Bailey concludes: “This first Composites UK Hub Report provides industry, academia and both national and local government representatives with the most detailed picture of the make-up of the composites sector in the UK. This report provides a comprehensive overview of where composites companies, and high value manufacturing jobs, can be found in the UK and what types of skills and capabilities they have. Going forwards, Composites UK will be using the Hub Data to inform the national and local industrial strategy in support of our sector.”
The Association would like to thank all of the companies who have contributed their company entry to the database and reminds all companies to keep these as up-to-date as possible so that they are highlighted in any relevant searches made through this publicly available tool. A listing on The Hub is open to all companies free-of-charge with extra benefits, such as being prioritised in the search results, given to member companies.
Members can find a copy of the report free-of-charge in the Member Resources area of our website (login required). Others can request a copy for £25+VAT if you are a non-member whose company is listed on The Hub, £50+VAT otherwise by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
