The Royal Aeronautical Society is holding its 6th Aircraft Structural Design Conference at We The Curious in the heartland of British Aerospace, Bristol on 9 – 11 October 2018.
Undertaken with the backing of the University of Bristol and supported by Composites UK, the conference is the only one in Europe dedicated to aircraft structures and materials.
This year, the conference will address the challenges facing the designers of the next generation aircraft. New designs will need to meet progressively stricter environmental constraints and be subjected to ever increasing pressures for reductions in manufacturing and life-cycle costs, coupled with a requirement for continual improvements in overall performance/efficiency factors. The resulting aircraft will be complex, requiring the use of advanced or novel materials, multi-disciplinary design approaches and solutions operating in a distributed design environment.
With two streams of presentations containing sessions on Optimisation, Aeroelasticity, Morphing, Loads/Loading, Design, Structures & CPRP, delivered by leading industry experts and academia, delegates will gain the knowledge needed to further their own research and ensure their work stays at the forefront of aircraft design.
By attending, delegates will also be demonstrating their commitment to Continuing Professional Development by logging over 21 hours of CPD.
The three days also provides plenty of excellent networking opportunities, where ideas can be shared, and future business opportunities created.
The programme includes papers by speakers from Aerospace Technology Institute, Airbus Group, Cardiff University, Cranfield University, DLR German Aerospace Centre, Delft University of Technology, MIT, MSC Software, The Open University, University of Bristol and the University of Nottingham.
Composites UK members can save £100 on by taking advantage of an exclusive discounted registration fee (members should login to obtain discount details here).
