Supporting UK Composites

Cubis Support the Advanced Transport & Infrastructure National College for HS2

The National Colleges for Advanced Transport & Infrastructure have been established to provide the higher-level skills needed to transform the UK rail and transport infrastructure networks. Two new Colleges in Doncaster and Birmingham have been purpose built to provide state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to delivering the higher-level training required to create HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail and all other major infrastructure rail projects.

Through a combination of classroom teaching and real hands on experience the Colleges provide technical and professional courses, using the very latest and future industry technologies, to a diverse range of learners that are starting a career in the industry, looking to switch careers, or are part of the existing workforce.

Cubis has worked in partnership with the Colleges to donate a range of innovative, modular, composite rail network access chambers and cable protection products that are currently being used and have been specified and installed in major rail infrastructure projects such as HS2, Manchester Tram, Midland Metro and The Great Western Electrification Projects to name a few.

George Woollard, the company's Rail Sector Business Development Manager, recently visited the Doncaster College to meet with the team and give an insight in to how Cubis’ donated products are influencing the future of rail specification through new technologies and construction techniques. George discussed with the team how Cubis’ products can be used by the students to incorporate the latest technologies and construction techniques within the rail sectorFuture plans with the College will involve the practical installation of Cubis’ products and working alongside the students to give them a hands-on approach to learning whilst utilising the rail track area at both Colleges.
