Formaplex has secured its third major certification this year, gaining the AS9100C accreditation for manufacturing and machining composite components for aerospace, defence and space industries.
The company says that achieving the AS9100C accreditation will increase the business potential and further its approval within these sectors.
A NADCAP level 8 climate controlled clean room has recently been approved and a new Maroso 6m x 3m autoclave for curing large composite components supports Formaplex's manufacturing capacity for existing and potential customers within aerospace, defence, automotive and motorsport industries.
Recent investments includes a Belloti 5 axis CNC milling machines for precision engineering of tooling and large composite and aluminium components, such as wing structures, up to 4m in length. The additional machinery has increased production capacity which already extends to 24/7 operations to meet time critical delivery schedules.
