George Hollingbery MP Opens New Consuta Training Centre at Hexion CCT

George Hollingbery MP with Chris Little and Paul Collier

George Hollingbery, MP for Meon Valley, recently visited the Hexion subsidiary Combined Composite Technologies to formally open a new training centre operated in partnership with Consuta Training.  During his visit, Mr Hollingbery toured the training and composites production facilities and met with employees, many of whom have already begun training in composites production.

As part of the Company’s commitment to its skills development programme, Hexion CCT forged a partnership agreement with Consuta Training to deliver training courses at Hexion’s new dedicated training centre in its Segensworth,UK, production facility. Consuta Training teaches composites production processes, through a range of bespoke training courses, to suit individual companies. In addition to training Hexion’s staff at the centre, Consuta is also offering training to college students and composites company employees from across the UK.

“It  was a privilege to visit this sort of high technology firm that is the future for Britain if it’s going to continue to compete in the world,” George Hollingbery MP commented. “Hexion CCT is clearly at the forefront of composite component production, which is essential to the UK’s defence, aerospace and renewable energy industries.”

The new training centre is great news for the Meon Valley and the surrounding area and will ensure we keep developing the top quality skills required to keep the UK as a leading power in international composite manufacturing.”

Paul Collier, Managing Director of Hexion CCT said; "Skilled employees are the best asset any company can have and at Hexion CCT we are incredibly fortunate to have the capability to train our people to the highest standards, through Consuta’s specialist training, in our new training centre. Being able to offer this training to other composites companies and colleges in the UK is a first, and will raise standards across the entire industry.”

Chris Little, Director of Consuta, added; “Consuta is used to travelling around the UK, visiting composite companies and delivering training courses on their premises, but it is so much better to have a purpose-built training centre where students can focus on their training in a dedicated environment. So far, the results have been very encouraging and I look forward to seeing many more students graduate from Consuta’s courses at the training centre in Hexion’s facility.”
