PDM Event to Showcase Leading Lights of Plastics Industry

Featuring scientific discoveries, innovative approaches to design and ground-breaking new technology, this year’s PDM Event will be a true showcase of the UK’s dynamic plastics sector. Taking place at the Telford International Centre from 14 to 15 June 2016, PDM Event will also provide the perfect setting to unveil the results of two new industry surveys – Best Places to Work in UK Plastics and Most Influential People in the UK Plastics.
Free-to-attend, PDM Event offers an all-encompassing exhibition and conference for plastics design, moulding, packaging and recycling. The multi-million pound Telford International Centre venue provides ample space for large machinery exhibits and access to a brand new conference area.
Plastics developments and innovations covered in the free-to-attend conference sessions will include Industry 4.0, SprayPET technology, energy efficient equipment, auxetic polymers, alternative materials for rotomoulding and new colour opportunities provided by effect pigments.
Recycling will be high on the agenda with speakers exploring how to keep plastics recovery facilities viable and sustainable in the current economic environment, reform in the PRN system, value chains in the circular economy, the impact of the plastic bag charge and how to increase the use of recycled content in cars. Speakers will include representatives from Tesco, WRAP, Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC) and British Plastics Federation (BPF) Recycling Group as well as academics, policy and compliance experts, and leading lights in the packaging and design industries.
Arburg, Biffa Polymers, Boddingtons Plastics, Erema, Hasco Internorm, Milacron, Motan Colortronic, Negri Bossi, Piovan, Plasgran, Plastribution and Romi Machines are among the leading industry names who have already booked stands. New exhibitors have been attracted too including Connect 2 Cleanrooms (offering mouldshop solutions to prevent contamination), Staubli Connectors (hydraulic and electrical connectors), CS Moldes (Portuguese mouldshop), CRC Industries (global supplier of chemical products including purge agents and mould lubricants), Plunkett Associates (low volume prototyping), BOC (industrial gases and cleaning solutions) and Petlon Polymers Ltd (polymer compounding and recovery).
Visitors will have the opportunity to discuss projects with product design companies, rotational and blow moulding machinery suppliers, toolmakers, rapid prototyping specialists, moulders and mouldmakers, masterbatch specialists, software suppliers and materials testing specialists.
PDM Event enjoys the support of all the major plastics and moulding associations including Composites UK, Institute of Engineering Designers (IED), Society of Plastics Engineers UK & Ireland (SPE), Rubber & Plastics Research Association (RAPRA), BPF, the Gauge & Toolmakers Association (GTMA), IOM3, Polymer Training and Innovation Centre and the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA), Polymer Society, RECOUP, LARAC and WRAP.
The PDM Event exhibition and conference is free to attend for visitors. For more information on visiting, exhibiting or sponsorship visit
