Composites UK is delighted to be working with Philip Spinks as the new Strategy Delivery Manager for the Composites Leadership Forum (CLF).
The CLF is working to influence the Government and other bodies to bring together support for composites and ensure growth and industrial success for the UK. Driven from the 2009 Strategy for UK Composites, the CLF was set up in mid-2012 from an industry initiative to coordinate and connect the activities of the growing number of composite-using companies, supportive stakeholders and industry organisations.
Composites UK and the CLF will refresh the UK Composites Strategy, and Philip joins the team for six months to develop a sustainable model for this going forward. The CLF comprises of three supply chain industry groups (aerospace, automotive, construction) with four working groups (technology and innovation; skills and learning; regulations, codes and standards; and sustainability).
Philip Spinks concludes; “It is a great opportunity to be working with Composites UK to support the CLF in developing an effective model to support the delivery of the Composites Strategy. I’ve already met most of the team and looking forward to the first workshop, which is on Skills & Learning.”
Fully supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) modern Industrial Strategy white paper, the CLF is chaired by industry with members drawn from industry sector groups, Government and stakeholders and delivery partners.
The UK’s Industrial Strategy is a long-term plan to build a Britain fit for the future through a stronger, fairer economy. Through this we will help businesses to create better, higher-paying jobs - setting a path for Britain to lead in the high-tech, highly-skilled industries of the future.
