Recomp, a conference on the re-use and recycling of composite materials, has been moved online and will utilse a new platform enabling attendees to speak to each other face-to-face, albeit virtually.
This new event from Composites UK, which was postponed from May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will use Airmeet, allowing several sessions to be delivered in the same place and includes virtual meeting tables and speed networking capabilities.
Claire Whysall, Communications Manager at Composites UK, said: “We’ve all had to learn a lot about online meetings over the last few months and it was clear that many people are missing the face-to-face networking elements of events the most. Airmeet allows us to bring that back into our events, essentially it's just like attending a conference before COVID-19, only on your computer screen - you just have to provide your own catering!”.
Recomp will take place from 23rd – 25th November, beginning with tutorials from EuCIA and ELG Carbon Fibre on the first day. The main conference programme is then split over the following two days:
Tuesday 24th November:
• Session 1: Strategic Priorities and Life Cycle Assessment
• Session 2: Feedback from Major International Projects
Wednesday 25th November:
• Session 3: Manufacturing with Recycled Carbon Fibre
• Session 4: Effective GRP Recycling and Re-Use
• Session 5: Fibre Alignment and Recyclable Resins, followed by Panel Discussion
Attendees can attend all of the event or pick the days they wish.
