Tufcot has joined the Made in Sheffield group to strengthen its collaborations with other local manufacturers. The move comes as part of its latest marketing plan which highlighted that although Tufcot has many UK customers it would like to increase its UK market share. To do this, the company felt it was best for them to start locally, within the Sheffield region.
Made in Sheffield is a well known and prestigious group where only companies who manufacture and have a Sheffield post code are allowed to use its logo. The Made in Sheffield brand is globally recognised but also shows local customers/suppliers that Tufcot want to show its materials and products as being ‘Made In Sheffield’. The region is historically prestigious for making excellent quality steel and cutlery. This now reflects Sheffield high quality manufacturing in many other fields since the steel making subsided.
Tufcot says that not only does it have many local customers who make use of the collection of goods, therefore reducing delivery costs but it also has many suppliers and links to other local firms for who it is easier to meet, contact and is also a boost to the local economy. To name a few the company works with:
- The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce
- Phil Geesin Machinery – New and Old machinery
- Ron Hull - Waste
- Office Friendly – Marketing/Advertising
- East Midlands Saws – Saw maintenance
- South Yorkshire Cartons - Packaging
When looking for new suppliers Tufcot always try to look locally where possible.
