Through an event organised by British Marine, giving companies the opportunity to grow their business within the marine sector, Tufcot showcased its products within an industry that may not already be familiar with the capabilities of its composite material and what they can offer. The company hoped to give the marine sector a solution to historic problems. With the addition of the networking activities afterwards, the event gave a great opportunity to get to know potential customers within a more informal setting.
Specifically, Tufcot’s® material grade T100MP, is Lloyds approved for Rudder and Rudder Pintle bearings and we are on the verge of announcing our T100MP range of material for class approval DNV-GL. By utilising the company's own internal test rig, it has managed to make sure its material is up to the required specification for both class approvals.
Tufcot says it is ideal in the marine sector because:
- Less than 0.1% volumetric swell of the material - these figures were recorded for our Lloyds approval certification.
- Naturally low co-efficient of friction.
- No maintenance.
- Exceptional Dimensional Stability, Even in Wet Conditions.
- 1/6th the weight of steel.
