Composites UK has announced its Charity of the Year to be YoungMinds.

YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity fighting for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. It makes sure that young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.

The Association will be participating in fundraising activities throughout the year to raise money for the charity, this will include:

  • A raffle at our Networking Charity Dinner on 22nd April 2020 in Bristol.
  • A collection at our Awards dinner on 4th November 2020 in Birmingham.
  • Collection boxes at all of our events throughout the year.
  • A sponsored walk.

Claire Whysall, Communications Manager at Composites UK, said: “Starting in 2020 we decided to choose one charity and support them throughout the year, rather than just at our Awards Dinner as we have done previously. This allows us to raise more funds for them and creates a greater awareness of their work through us promoting them alongside our events.

“YoungMinds was chosen by our Board of Directors and operational team as it does some amazing work in supporting and guiding young people when it’s not always easy to ask for help, as well as being there for parents and guardians too.

“We are in the early stages of organising our sponsored walk in September 2020 so more details of this will be available soon. Rest assured we won’t be making it easy on ourselves!”

Vanessa Longley, Director of Development at YoungMinds, added: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as Composites UK’s Charity of the Year and are grateful for their support. The generosity and awareness generated from the partnership will help us to continue our vital work fighting for the mental health of children and young people across the UK. We very much look forward to working with them over the next year.”

Donations for the raffle at the Networking Charity Dinner are gratefully received. Please contact Composites UK should you wish to donate.
