Advanced Engineering will be hosting the first of the new and enhanced AE Talks series on a bigger and better scale. Each AE Talk will put the spotlight on a key industry sector with a high-profile keynote, and sponsored supplier sessions to showcase the related cutting-edge solutions and innovations available.
The theme of the first event is Aerospace and Chris Gear, Project Director at FlyZero will be giving the keynote speech - FlyZero - how the UK is leading a revolution in zero-carbon air travel.
Chris was Chief Technology Officer for GKN Aerospace from 2014 to 2019, which included running the Global Technology Department for the engineering group. As Vice President & Chief Engineer of GKN Aerospace, Chris led the engineering and technology team with a £20m budget and 500 engineers globally. He has now taken on the role of Project Director at FlyZero.
The second speaker, Julian Renz, leads Business Development at ZeroAvia, the leading innovator in decarbonising commercial aviation. ZeroAvia has secured £12.3m ($16.3m) in Government funding through the ATI Programme to deliver a breakthrough 19-seat hydrogen-electric powered aircraft that is market-ready by 2023 call Hyflyer II. Julian is responsible for the delivery of this project.
