16th July 2025, Nottingham
Our CDT aims to develop the next generation of leaders within the composites industry, equipping talented individuals with advanced skills and knowledge to drive a sustainable, future. The CDT has been operational for 9 months, with support from a wide range of industry in the composites sector, we have recruited 10 students in 2024 and estimate 15 more in 2025. We have created a network of companies that share our vision of a sustainable future enabled by composites engineering. Over the following three years, the CDT will be able to provide leveraged funds to support exciting projects, which draw on scientific expertise spanning materials, automation, digital transformation, manufacturing technology, experimental mechanics, and structural design. If you wish to join our network or find out more, please attend our Open Day, where you can meet our current industrial supporters in an interactive setting. We will provide insight into the activities of the CDT and you will be invited to help shape future research directions and begin developing project proposals to support our 2026 cohort of doctoral students. It is an opportunity to engage with academic staff to develop proposals and identify overarching themes for the CDT research.
