Supporting UK Composites

Commercialising Offshore Renewable Energy - Opportunities for Innovation

The UK is leading the world in the development of wave and tidal energy technology and projects.   Bristol has been at the heart of this exciting new industry from the start.  As a result, Bristol now boasts one of the largest clusters of industry expertise in the world, with leading tidal turbine manufacturers Siemens MCT, Alstom and Atlantis Resources Ltd located in the city.  The industry is supported by a growing supply chain of engineers, consultancies, component suppliers, research organisations and more.

This workshop is for South West businesses which want to take part in this growing sector.  We will help you to explore how your products and services can be extended into the offshore energy supply chain.

This workshop, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Environmental iNet programme and delivered by industry experts Regen SW and Marine Energy Matters, will:

  • Describe the marine renewable energy sector in detail including technology state of the art
  • Identify opportunities for supply chain engagement and innovation
  • Identify funding approaches to supply chain innovation
  • Highlight support available for small and medium enterprises

We will cover these topics through presentations, discussion and facilitated workshop sessions. There will also be ample time to network with industry colleagues.
