The European Commission has outlined a number of strategies that supports the ambition to have a CO2-neutral European society in 2050. Many of these strategies offer opportunities for the European composite industry to contribute to this target, but also challenges have to be faced, like the need for circularity of the used materials.
To inform the European composite industry on these opportunities and challenges, EuCIA will organize a series of workshops, of which this is the first one, focusing on offshore wind energy and hydrogen.
Our guest speaker from the European Commission, Mr. Carlos Lima da Cunha (Policy Officer, DG Research & Innovation, Clean Energy Transition) will present the EU strategies on Offshore Renewable Energy (of which wind energy is a major contributor) and the Hydrogen Strategy as well as their funding schemes. He will also highlight the role of materials (including composites). Summaries of these two EU Strategies are enclosed with this invitation. After the presentation, the participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to the representative of the European Commission.
Participants should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to register for the workshop.
A confirmation together with a detailed information on the online participation will be send shortly before the workshop.
