Event organised by the East Midlands Materials Society in conjunction with the British Composites Society and Light Metals Division of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3).
Scope and Background:
This conference aims to consider the challenges and opportunities for the optimum use of lightweight materials in engineering structures. The problems will be looked at from both a materials and applications perspective.
Format and Preliminary Programme:
The venue for this conference is the prestigious National Space Centre in Leicester. It is easily accessible by car, and there is extensive free car parking (by permit). It is also a short bus or taxi ride from the mainline railway station in Leicester.
The programme will feature a full afternoon of invited speakers, plus an opportunity for networking. A buffet lunch will be available from 12:00pm. Early registrants will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition areas of the Space Centre at no extra charge.
