Managing Styrene in the Workplace

There is a legal requirement to control exposure to styrene to a level which is as low as reasonably practicable below the work exposure limit (WEL). Styrene vapour can cause irritation to the nose, throat and lungs with exposures at moderate levels. The UK WEL for styrene is currently 100parts per million (ppm) averaged over an 8-hour day, though many European countries operate to much lower limits such as 10-20ppm.

This event aims to help manufacturers ensure they have appropriate measures in place to manage styrene exposure in the workplace and give advice on how to reduce their WEL should legislation require lower levels in the future. Hear from the experts and ask them your questions!

All delegates will receive the Composites UK fact sheet on managing styrene along with copies of the Cefic safe handling guides and HSE information sheets on styrene (on memory stick)
