Energy and Water Procurement Service
Composites UK has teamed up with consultants, Briar Associates to offer an Energy and Water Procurement Service to its members.
This service is in addition to the successful Climate Change Levy Discount Scheme (CCL) which was put in place in 2017, allowing users of carbon fibre to claim back CCL on their energy bills (subject to eligibility criteria) which has already delivered over £500,000 of savings to composite manufacturers.
The procurement of energy and water within the competitive market has become a great deal more complex over recent years and requires an understanding of tariff structures; market movements and which are the most competitive suppliers at any time.
Participating within this service will give companies access to one of the UK’s leading independent consultants who will manage all of these issues and give the added benefit of economy of scale through their large purchasing power.
In order to take advantage of this opportunity and receive a free-of-charge no-obligation assessment of the saving opportunities, just provide Briars with a recent bill. They will then look at cost saving opportunities from improved procurement and tariff infrastructure changes as well as identifying if there are any opportunities for retrospective rebates.
Should the identified opportunities be of interest, then Briars will provide a fully managed service to achieve the savings. Where supply contracts are signed between the member and a utility supplier, Briars will pay a transparent commission to Composites UK as a management fee for the service.
Composites UK members will benefit from:
- Management of the energy procurement
- Market intelligence and tendering
- Bill validation and monitoring of supplies
- Tariff opportunities
- Retrospective cost recovery
- Account management
Briar Associates’ results over the past decade have shown a 7% saving on the Digest of UK Energy Prices with its commission charges being considerably less than the majority of its competitors.
