As we continue to push the boundaries of composite technology, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Assurance Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our cutting-edge projects.

As a Quality Assurance Manager at iCOMAT, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance and control processes within our composite manufacturing operations. Your role, working closely with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams, will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems to ensure we meet both customer and certifying bodies quality requirements / standards. Support the drive towards continuous improvement in product quality.

What will you be doing? 🤔

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Oversee the Inspection and Testing processes to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and customer requirements, conducting internal audits and hosting / managing customer / governing body audits.
  • Manage Supplier Audits and Approvals
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Manage and mentor the business regarding the Quality Assurance Principles and Process, providing training and support as required.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality documentation, including quality plans, inspection records, and audit reports.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer inquiries and issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.

What do we need from you? 💪

  • Required: Experience as a Senior QA professional in either Aerospace, Defence or Automotive.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree or additional qualifications in quality management or composite materials.
  • Preferred: Experience in composites or similar environment, but must be from a Manufacturing background.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Gauge R&R, FMEA).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to identify and address quality issues.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Quality-related certifications (e.g., CQE, CQM, Six Sigma Black Belt) are an advantage.

We’ve completed multiple technology validation programmes (with the European Space Agency, Airbus, Jaguar Land Rover, BAE Systems, F1 Teams) and are in the process of executing on the first production opportunities with leading OEMs. We’re edging towards becoming a significant scale-up with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next 2-3 years and expand operations into Europe and the US! 📈
