Sustainability Working Group

The Sustainability Working Group is chaired by Stella Job of Composites UK. The SWG works across the Sector Groups and seeks to identify opportunities in the Sector Roadmaps where circular economy approaches, end-of-life and recycling opportunities are present.

Aim: “to develop circular economy principles alongside the rapid development of composites along with promoting and developing life cycle analysis and developing new markets for recyclate from end-of-life and process waste.”

The SWG has recently:

  • Delivered a Sustainability in Auto Composites workshops that has resulted in several potential new collaborations; and
  • Launched the CUK Sustainability sub-group

Current work includes driving international Life Cycle Assessment development with ACMA and EuCIA and also research into the development of recycling routes.
