The Workforce Development Working Group is led by Paul Shakspeare of the NCC. Dean Jones of Rolls-Royce Chairs the Employers' Group working on Apprenticeships Standards with FE colleges. The British Composites Society represents the HE sector on the CLF. The WFWG works across the Sector Groups and uses feedback from the technology and other working groups to assist employers to secure the right skills in the future composites workforce.
Aim: “to assess market demand across all levels and technologies and ensure that appropriate training, whether CDP for existing employees through to FE and HE for new employees, exists to meet this demand.”
Recent and ongoing activity
The WDWG launched Trailblazer Apprenticeships in 2017 with 9 colleges providing training. The intention is to ensure that appropriate training exists from Level 2 through to Level 7.
