Composites UK Announce Four New Award Categories

Composites UK has added four new award categories to its Industry Awards line up for 2022.

The Association holds an annual award ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the UK composites industry, in categories covering company efforts and successes on an individual basis.

New for 2022 is the Social Impact Award, for companies that can show measurable outcomes in how they are improving lives and supporting the society around them. The new Supplier of the Year Award that will recognise the suppliers within the UK composites industry who go above and beyond to support their customers.

With the composites industry taking the lead to meet targets on the green agenda, the Sustainability Award has been split into two categories. The first is the Net-Zero Award which will reward the most innovative composites solutions which are contributing significantly to the decarbonisation of their own company and/or the wider economy’s activities. The second is the Circularity Award, which will praise efforts in areas such as reducing/recycling composite waste, increasing the use of biomaterials and encouraging others to do the same.

Returning for 2022 are awards for:

  • Innovation in Composites Design
  • Innovation in Composites Manufacture
  • Innovation in Composites Materials
  • Employer of the Year
  • Trainee/Apprentice of the Year
  • Outstanding Contribution to the Composites Industry Award

Companies in the UK composites supply chain are encouraged to enter – and can do so for themselves or on behalf of a company or person they have worked with who they think deserve to be recognised.

The entry forms are available on the Composites UK website from now up until the deadline of 29th July 2022. Entries are then judged over the summer with the shortlist revealed towards the end of September.

The winners will be announced at the 2022 Composites UK Industry Awards Dinner, taking place on the evening of 2nd November at the National Motorcycle Museum. This event is again aligned with the Advanced Engineering Show (2 – 3 November, Birmingham NEC).

Sponsorship options are available for the event, with tables/seats currently priced at early-bird rates until the end of July. For details about this and to download the entry forms, here.
