MATRIX Composite Materials Co. Celebrates 25 Years

MATRIX Composite Materials Company will again be exhibiting at the Advanced Engineering show in November, but this year they will be celebrating 25 years as a materials supplier. The company was started in 1993 as Matrix Mouldings by Wiz Deas and Pete Finch, but by October 1997 they had focussed purely on supplying materials, whilst offering customers their experience of actually making things.

MATRIX have partnered with SICOMIN since the very start, stocking most of their large range of laminating, infusion and hot-press epoxy systems. SICOMIN were the first epoxy manufacturer to offer a BIO resin with their GreenPoxy® range back in 2007, and now GreenPoxy® BIO systems make up the bulk of their standard range.

Over the years MATRIX added a large range of reinforcements in glass and carbon, and in 2021 became an official HEXCEL Reinforcements Distributor. Another large step-change came in 2016, when MATRIX started working with ARMACELL and their PET products, and in 2018 they became the sole UK Distribution of ArmaPET foams, which are uniquely produced from 100% post-consumer recycled water bottles.

The company is still owned and run by the Directors, and operates out of their own warehouse in Bristol. Their philosophy is simple – choose a few good suppliers, understand your products technically, hold high levels of stock for next-day delivery, and look after your customers.

At the Advanced Engineering Show you will find MATRIX on booth X150 in Hall 3A, and they will be focussing on our three specialities of Epoxy systems, Cores and Reinforcements, which are also the staples of engineered composite production.
