ECS Bolsters Team with String of Appointments

Engineered Composite Solutions (ECS) has bolstered its team with a string of appointments to support its growth. The latest recruit to join the Aberdeen team is Justin Brennan, who brings with him over 23 years of composite experience.

Justin will be based in the UK, supporting clients at a global level. He will work alongside ECS-founder, Professor Simon Frost, as Composites Expert and Innovation Support.

Simon comments: “I’m looking forward to working with Justin, who’ll be part of the technical team. Justin brings considerable experience in composites to ECS, which importantly has primarily come from other industry sectors, notably aerospace and automobile. The value of this knowledge in the manufacture and design of composite materials is a real asset to the company. His initial development work will be to design and test a resin infusion installation methodology for engineered composite repairs. We’re extremely proud to have him on board.”

Prior to joining the ECS team, Justin, who lives in Elgin, worked his way up to senior level in aerospace and motorsport, where he worked in Rally and Formula One. He has worked in the industry all his working life and is highly knowledgeable and passionate about composites. He said: “I’ve been extremely blessed to work as a Composite Technician, where I’ve been involved in building and testing prototype aircraft and space vehicles. I’ve now developed an interest in research and development and have been lucky to have worked alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry. ECS is extremely customer-driven with a commitment to innovation. I think it’s great that they’ve been able to come up with some incredible solutions in extremely short time frames and I’m looking forward to helping them push more boundaries. It’s a really exciting time.”

Justin has been welcomed to ECS alongside Craig Forsyth and Mark Bolger, who joined the team in August and September last year respectively as FutureWrap Composite Technicians.

This latest growth spurt comes after the company recently won a number of large contracts following the launch of two composite repair systems, FutureWrap Fire, and FutureWrap Bio.

ECS was launched in 2019 by Professor Simon Frost, Greg Innes, and Jen Garside. Under the FutureWrap brand, the company has a range of composite repair systems, which have been designed to provide long-lasting composite repair solutions, using the latest technology. Over the next three years, the company plans to continue its growth and develop further innovative solutions for the industry.
