The early bird rates to attend this year’s Fibre Polymer Composites in Construction (FPCC) conference will come to an end on 30th June.
The event, taking place from 6 – 8th September at the University of Bradford, is a three-day peer reviewed international academic conference which is focussed on the development and application of fibre polymer composite materials across the construction and infrastructure sectors.
Organised by Composites UK and Fluency the event brings together leading academic researchers and innovators in the construction industry to showcase the benefits of using fibre-reinforced polymer composites in construction applications.
Topics covered include:
- Design
- Durability
- Monitoring
- Codes and standards
- Composite rebar
- Structural strengthening
- Sustainability
- New materials and processes
- All FRP bridges
The conference will see keynote presentations delivered by:
- Mike Moseley, i3P/KTN Construction – Strategic overview of the construction industry
- Jeff May, Construction Products Association – Construction industry trends and the opportunities for composites
- Samir Dirar, Birmingham University – Shear Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Beams with Embedded FRP Bars
A full list of speakers and presentations can be found on the conference website – www.fpcc-conference.com. Book your place before 30th June to secure the best available rates.
Also looming is the deadline for the Early Career Researcher Competition, which provides an invaluable opportunity for early-stage researchers working within this field to showcase their work, and provides a unique platform for research students to discuss and exchange ideas with their peers, and engage with key academic and industry leaders.
The competition is aimed at the next generation of structural engineers who are enthusiastic about fibre-reinforced polymer composites in structural engineering and are ready to make their mark. By holding the competition as part of the FPCC conference it provides a great networking opportunity with industry professionals and is an excellent addition to anyone’s CV.
