CompoTech Plus s.r.o. (stand 07.502), a pioneer in advanced carbon composite design and manufacturing, is returning to Metstrade (18-20 Nov 2025, RAI Amsterdam) to showcase its latest marine innovations and mark 30 years in business.
Over three decades, CompoTech has developed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of carbon fibre (CF) composite fibre winding technology. From its early days creating paddle shafts and custom mast structures, the founders used their engineering knowledge and composite materials processing expertise to develop carbon headfoil components for America’s Cup teams, such as Prada Challenge and Alinghi.
CompoTech has also produced CF components for offshore racing classes, ranging from the IMOCA 60s to Mini Transats, as well as for production builds like the Seascape Edition Beneteau First. More recent applications include collaborations in superyacht rigging with Rondal and Sunreef, as well as CF composite telescopic structures for Wisamo’s windship technology demonstrator, and in lightweight mobile lifting gear and surveillance applications.
CompoTech Stand Application Highlights at Metstrade 2025
- Carbon Telescopic Masts Structures – lightweight, corrosion free CF composite solutions for radar, navigation, lifting and surveillance systems, as well as telescopic sailing yacht masts.
- Custom Filament-Wound Tubes & Beams – Mast sections, round, and oval profiles, engineered for marine rigging, structural beams, and foiling applications.
- Rudder Stocks & Drive shafts – fatigue-resistant solutions proven in performance cruisers and offshore racing yachts, with advanced fibre winding capability for integrated connections.
- 30 Years of Heritage & Innovation – a showcase of landmark projects successes since CompoTech started business in 1995, from America’s Cup campaigns to the latest telescopic mast developments.
Key Technology Highlight for Stand Visitors: ‘True Zero’ Axial Fibre Winding
At the heart of CompoTech’s success in developing high performance epoxy carbon fibre composite components, which have replaced steel and aluminium, is its proprietary ‘true zero’ axial fibre placement technology. Unlike conventional winding, which cannot perfectly align fibres, CompoTech’s automated process allows carbon fibres to be placed exactly at 0° along the axis of a tube or hollow beam. The result:
- Efficient fibre usage and processing
- Unmatched stiffness-to-weight ratio
- Improved fatigue life
- Enhanced structural integrity for marine loads
This unique capability has been proven in applications ranging from high-aspect masts to lightweight structural beams, giving naval architects and builders new performance and design possibilities.
“Although it has been some years since our last appearance at Metstrade, the marine sector has always been at the core of CompoTech’s strategy. We are excited to return in our 30th anniversary year to showcase not only our history in developing and producing high-performance carbon composite yacht structures, but also a new generation of telescopic and structural solutions, made possible by our unique winding technology and dedicated team of engineers.” said Vitek Sprdlik, Compo Tech’s technical director.
