CNC Robotics To Host National Additive Manufacturing Workshop Following Successful North West Pilot

Following the success of its pilot workshop last month, attended by SME manufacturers from across the North West, CNC Robotics is expanding its Additive Manufacturing Workshop to all UK manufacturers. The next session, taking place on 9th December, offers a wider audience the opportunity to explore how robotic 3D printing can accelerate tooling, modelmaking, prototyping and low-volume production within the composites and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The pilot event received outstanding feedback from manufacturers across aerospace, marine, motorsport, construction, architectural ceramics and specialist GRP, many of whom highlighted the speed, waste reduction and process simplification delivered by robotic additive manufacturing. Building on that momentum, CNC Robotics is now opening the workshop nationally to support more businesses looking to adopt additive technology with confidence and technical clarity.

What the Workshop Covers
Attendees will see live demonstrations of three complementary robotic additive technologies:

Metal 3D Printing (Meltio)
Wire-laser deposition for hybrid manufacturing, repair, and adding features directly onto existing metal components.

Thermoplastic Polymer 3D Printing (CEAD)
High-output pellet extrusion for large fibre-reinforced thermoplastic moulds, tooling, fixtures and end-use components.

PU Tooling Paste 3D Printing (Paste_Pro)
Fast, near-net-shape moulds, plugs and patterns made from polyurethane paste — removing glue-ups, reducing waste and shortening lead times.

The workshop will also provide practical guidance on how manufacturers can move from curiosity to adoption with structured technical support, integration planning and clear return-on-investment pathways.

Why This Matters for Composites Manufacturers
Robotic 3D printing is transforming how composite tooling and large structures are produced — replacing multi-stage plug-and-mould processes with rapid, digitally-driven alternatives. For manufacturers working in composites, this presents a direct route to reduced tooling costs, faster turnaround, lower material waste and more flexible production.

Who Should Attend
This event is now open to SME manufacturers across the UK, with relevance to those working in:
• Composite tooling
• GRP manufacturing
• Mould-making
• Low-volume production
• Large-format prototyping
• Product development
