Composites UK is the trade association for the UK composites industry, representing companies across the entire supply chain – from raw materials and manufacturing to recycling and end-use applications. We work to promote growth, innovation, and sustainability within the sector, while providing high-value support to our members.
The Role
Full time – 37.5 hours per week, flexible working hours
UK travel required, some European travel
Start date: 1st June 2026
We are seeking a proactive Membership Manager to lead member retention, membership growth, and engagement. This role is central to strengthening industry relationships, enhancing member value, and supporting our sustainability initiatives. You will work closely with sector leaders, partners, and internal teams to ensure strong and effective engagement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Retention & Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing members across the UK.
- Proactively engage to understand their needs and ensure high satisfaction.
- Deliver retention initiatives through regular communication, site visits, and feedback activities
- Support onboarding to ensure new members quickly see value.
Membership Growth & Business Development
- Identify and convert new membership opportunities across the composites supply chain.
- Manage the full membership sales process, from lead generation to onboarding.
- Represent Composites UK at industry events, exhibitions, and networking activities.
- Maintain accurate membership records and contribute to reporting on growth and engagement.
Sustainability Support
- Assist delivery of Composites UK’s sustainability programmes and organise the sustainability subgroup quarterly meetings.
- Engage members in sustainability initiatives, data collection, and best practice sharing.
- Support sustainability-related events and communications.
Collaboration & Communications
- Work closely with the wider Composites UK team on events, marketing, policy, and technical activities.
- Contribute to newsletters, member communications, and promotional materials.
- Act as a strong ambassador for Composites UK and the wider industry.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in membership management, account management, business development, or relationship management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, composite materials, or engineering sectors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage senior industry stakeholders.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Interest in sustainability, environmental initiatives, or ESG-related activities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Willingness to travel within the UK; full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in trade associations, membership organisations, or not-for-profit bodies.
- Experience of sustainability, environmental initiatives, or ESG-related activities.
