It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of our friend and Chairman, Prof Alan Banks, who passed away at home on Sunday 1st September 2024 surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Those who knew him will agree that Alan was a force of nature; bringing an impressive presence to subjects dear to his heart. He was passionate about engineering innovation and sustainability, and particularly vocal about the build superiority of Ford vehicles.
The whole industry will feel the impact of such a loss – Alan had a big personality, a big heart and a big voice, which we’re fortunate that he chose to lend in support of CUK and its members.
So, this week, as industry comes together for ICS and CENEX events, please remember Alan with a smile, raise a glass in his memory, send prayers and peace to his beloved wife and children Lisa, Juliet and Jack and most of all, look after one another.
Further details to follow in due course.
