In July 2024, Vincent Mortlock retired from Broadwater as Technical Director having served the company for over 21 years. Vincent has left a long-lasting legacy not only with the company, but in the FRP industry itself – we wish him all the best in his retirement.
Former Project Engineering Manager, Carl Reddington, has stepped up and accepted the position of Technical Director. Serving a very similar tenure, Carl is very much the go-to man in the business, having worked several roles within the company. He has been instrumental in instigating Broadwater’s constantly evolving working methods, technology base and not to mention our IT infrastructure.
Carl Reddington said, “Vince and I worked closely over the last 21 years. He shared his wealth of commercial and engineering knowledge with me to successfully introduce numerous new projects within Broadwater. This has provided me with excellent foundations to ensure the future growth and success of the business.”
Carl joins the Board alongside Matthew Herbert (MD) and Mags Humphrey (FD). His appointment comes at a crucial point in the company’s history, with the recent installation of the thermoforming machine, the subsequent contracts that go with it and most recently receiving the Kings Award for Enterprise for International Trade. The business format has changed over the past three years, from a contract moulder/parts supplier to more of a strategic design partner. With Carl’s input the factory has become more efficient, more consistent and consequently the company, as a whole, has more to offer than ever before.

In his time with Broadwater, we have seen Carl’s career flourish and he has approached every one of his roles with gusto. The Technical Director role could not be in better hands.”
Joining the team, Thomas Doy has stepped into the breach and taken Carl’s previous position as Project Engineering Manager. Thomas brings with him a wealth of industry and IT experience and has really hit the ground running within the company.
