The European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA) is pleased to announce that the Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies (PKTK) has joined the association. PKTK expands EuCIA’s existing network of national composites industry associations and industry-specific sector groups. Through its members, EuCIA now represents 85% of the European composites market*.
Established in 2017, PKTK is a platform supporting cooperation between organisations active in the field of composites technologies, including universities, R&D, industry, business, entrepreneurs, inventors, and other interested parties. The cluster currently has more than 120 members. In December 2021, PKTK became a National Key Cluster, a status granted to cluster organisations of significant importance to the national economy with high international competitiveness.
“The status of National Key Cluster is the next step in the development of PKTK, as we continue to expand and support our membership,” states Dr Andrzej Czulak, leader of PKTK. “Internationalisation is one of our strategic goals. By joining EuCIA we increase the visibility of the cluster, strengthen our advocacy role, and extend our network for our members in European markets; it will bring new opportunities for collaboration. Moreover, we are looking forward to joining EuCIA’s highly active Sustainability Working Group and learning more about the circularity of composite materials.”
“We are delighted to welcome the Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies to EuCIA,” says Roberto Frassine, President of EuCIA. “We initiated the discussion at JEC World in Paris and are very pleased to report this fruitful outcome. We look forward to sharing knowledge and best practices with PKTK and its members to support the sustainable growth of the composites industry in Europe. The addition of PKTK to our membership is another important step in our mission of becoming the unified voice of the entire European composites value chain.”
