The recent opening of Loop Technology’s Sheffield Office marks an exciting new chapter in the company’s expansion across the UK. This new location joins the company’s headquarters in Dorchester, Dorset, and its additional office in Bristol.
The Sheffield site provides a strategic base in South Yorkshire, just minutes from the city centre and within easy reach of major cities including Manchester, Leeds, and Nottingham. As an industrial automation and robotics specialist, Loop Technology sees significant opportunities for advanced manufacturing in the region, supported by a strong pool of engineering talent from both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
Commenting on the opening, Loop Technology CEO, Alun Reece, said:
“Due to a big upswing in orders, Loop Technology had to execute a rapid expansion plan. Several sites were considered, but the standout was the Advanced Manufacturing Park. With modern, energy-efficient factory space ready for occupation and abundant local talent, the Sheffield/Rotherham conurbation provided everything we were looking for. And I’m pleased to say it’s been everything we were hoping it would be. We’re building a great, highly skilled team there, and I’m excited to see how we continue to develop the facility in the coming years.”
The Sheffield office is also just minutes away from the AMRC and the new COMPASS facility, offering an excellent location as Loop Technology progresses with the Isothermic High Rate Sustainable Structures project, alongside partners Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems, and the AMRC.
Currently, the Sheffield site houses three FANUC M-2000iA robots, which will form part of the cutting-edge automated composite manufacturing technology being installed in the COMPASS (Composites at Speed and Scale) facility.
