At its Annual General Meeting on 13th May, Composites UK announced the six people nominated onto its Board of Directors this year by its member companies.
The Board is made up of 11 Directors (plus others who are co-opted in specialist areas) who are members of Composites UK themselves. Each Board Director is nominated for a term of two years.
Voted in for 2024 – 2026 are (in company order):
- Joe Summers – Airborne
- Clara Frias – AMRC
- Faye Smith – Avalon Consultancy
- Jen Hill – B&M Longworth
- Steve Barbour – Composite Braiding Ltd
- Steven Brown – Scott Bader Company Ltd
Joe, Clara, Faye and Jen are re-elected onto the Board and Steven Brown has been elected following several years being the co-opted director for Sustainability. Steve Barbour is newly welcomed.
Jen Hill said of her re-election: “I’m really pleased to have been re-elected to the Composites UK Board of Directors. A lot has been achieved over the last two years and we have much to be proud of, but there’s a way to go to realise the opportunity that exists for the UK composites industry; from government engagement to shaping legislation on our terms and competing on the world stage. It’s an exciting time to be involved!”
Newly elected Steve Barbour added: “I’m delighted to have been elected to the Board of Composites UK, especially so when the voting is done by my fellow members. I am particularly looking forward to assisting with promotion of the UK composites industry with the policy and decision makers.”

- Scott Tolson (Co-opted – finance)
