The European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA) and the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP) have signed a letter of intent (LOI) outlining areas of potential cooperation.
EuCIA represents European national composites associations and industry-specific sector groups at EU level. EACP is a network of 45 European aerospace clusters from 18 countries that aims to strengthen Europe’s strategic position in global aerospace markets.
In July 2024, a first exchange took place between Yalcin Yilmazkaya, Leader of the EACP Supply Chain & Technology (SC&T) Working Group and EuCIA representatives Professor Roberto Frassine, President, Raphaël Pleynet, Managing Director, and Kerem Paksoy, Board Member. There are several areas of possible cooperation between the two organisations and it was decided to create a LOI specifying the principals of future cooperation.
EuCIA and EACP intend to enhance and develop this cooperation and plan to work together on future opportunities for the benefit of both organisations and their members.
“We are very pleased to contribute EuCIA’s support, knowledge and network to EACP,” says Professor Roberto Frassine. “Innovation is key for the future of composites industry, especially in the aerospace market, where composite materials are enablers for new mobility concepts and reduced-emission products.”
“In order to successfully compete on the global level, the European aerospace industry needs to boost its innovative and competitive capabilities,” states Yalcin Yilmazkaya. “We look forward to developing this cooperation with EuCIA, sharing experience and supporting the implementation of collaborative projects to the benefit of Europe’s aerospace supply chains.”
The LOI was signed by Roberto Frassine and Yalcin Yilmazkaya on 11th October during the Meet4Composite exhibition in Istanbul.
