Composites UK Announces 2025 Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons

Composites UK is pleased to announce its Parliamentary Reception 2025, taking place on Monday 13th October 2025 at the House of Commons, London (2–4pm), sponsored by Baggy Shanker MP.

Building on the success of previous receptions, this year’s event comes at a pivotal moment for UK manufacturing, following the launch of the Government’s Industrial Strategy White Paper. For the first time, composites have been formally recognised in both the Advanced Materials and Foundational Industries sections of the strategy, highlighting the sector’s central role in driving growth, the energy transition, and the UK’s global competitiveness.

Composites are a Strategic National Asset – vital to decarbonising aerospace, automotive, energy, defence and infrastructure, while creating high-value, skilled jobs across the UK. This reception provides an important platform to demonstrate to Government and Parliament the strength of our sector and its essential contribution to the UK economy.

The composites industry contributed £13.4 billion to the UK economy in 2023, supporting nearly 50,000 jobs nationwide.

The 2025 reception will bring together industry leaders, politicians and key stakeholders to strengthen the case for a modern, balanced industrial strategy – one that not only fosters innovation but also accelerates commercialisation, energy competitiveness, exports and UK-based job creation.

To maximise impact, Composites UK is encouraging members to invite their local MP to attend. A downloadable invitation template is available, and early registration is requested to support parliamentary outreach.

Registration closes at 10am on 8th October 2025 for security reasons. Attendance is limited to members of Composites UK.
