Gear pump manufacturer Slack & Parr will showcase its high-precision metering technologies for ceramic composites and low viscosity resins at JEC World 2026.
Exhibiting on the Composites UK stand, the company will spotlight its range of specialist pumps for the manufacture of high-performance ceramic composites including silicon carbide-based CMCs, highlighting the use of special materials and surface treatments for extreme wear-resistance and durability.
Slack & Parr will also present its metering solutions for very low viscosity resins and polymers. Low viscosity resins and polymers have been the focus of increasing innovation and development in recent years as a way to achieve greater efficiency in wet-out applications and optimal fibre to resin ratios, resulting in strong and lightweight composite materials.
The company will highlight how its metering technologies respond to challenges associated with moving very low viscosity fluids, some of which are almost as thin and free flowing as water. It will show how high levels of precision engineering reduce the risk of fluid slip and deliver optimum accuracy, repeatability, control and efficiency in processing even the lowest viscosity resins and polymers under high pressure.
Slack & Parr has been delivering high-precision gear metering pumps into the global materials market for more than 80 years. The company is the world’s leading supplier of gear metering pumps for the production of PAN precursor, and its technologies are used in many composites manufacturing processes including coating, prepreg, filament winding and spraying, as well as in extruder-based processes most commonly used in the manufacture of thermoplastic composites.
