Composites UK Recognises David Bailey’s Contribution to the Industry

After six years with Composites UK, David Bailey has decided to step down from his role as Chief Executive, having made a significant contribution to the Association’s strategic direction, organisational development and work on behalf of the UK composites industry.

One of David’s key achievements has been the development and implementation of the Composites UK Five-Year Strategy, providing a clear framework for the Association’s priorities and ambitions. Composites UK is now progressing its second five-year strategy, also led by David, building on this foundation to further strengthen its support for members and the wider sector.

David has also been instrumental in establishing a stronger evidence base to demonstrate the scale and economic value of the UK’s Composites Sector. This resource has become an important tool in raising awareness of the industry’s contribution and supporting engagement with Government, policymakers and other key stakeholders.

In addition, David has supported the development of the Association’s operations team, helping to enhance its capabilities and capacity to deliver for members.

Composites UK is immensely grateful to David for his contribution over the past six years and the lasting foundations he has helped establish for the Association and the wider composites industry.

As the Association looks ahead to its next phase, Composites UK remains focused on delivering meaningful benefits for its members, promoting the advantages of composites and supporting the growth and competitiveness of the UK industry. Operations Manager, Sue Halliwell, will continue to oversee the operations team, ensuring continuity in day-to-day activities and the delivery of member services. Those interested in learning more about the Chief Executive role are welcome to speak to the team at Composites UK at the Advanced Engineering Show from 4 – 5 November, Hall 3A, Stand W170.

Composites UK and the Board of Directors wish David every success in his future endeavours.
