Biesterfeld expands Cooperation with Synthene and broadens Additive Manufacturing Portfolio in the DACH Region

Biesterfeld, one of the internationally leading distribution and service companies in the fields of plastics, rubber, specialty chemicals and ingredients, and specialty chemicals manufacturer Synthene are expanding their strategic partnership. Effective immediately, Biesterfeld will distribute Synthene’s innovative polyurethane solutions for industrial 3D printing in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, further strengthening its additive manufacturing portfolio.

At the center of the collaboration is SYNTHЭD+ PUprint, a newly developed two-component polyurethane system (2K PU) specifically designed for additive manufacturing. The material enables the production of fully functional, highly durable components, bringing the proven performance of casting polyurethanes to the world of 3D printing.

SYNTHЭD+ PUprint is available in four hardness grades ranging from Shore 55A to Shore 80A and offers outstanding mechanical strength, thermal stability, and chemical resistance. Compared with conventional TPU filaments, the material provides a robust alternative for functional end-use parts and demanding industrial applications.

Combined with Lynxter’s printing technology, the system enables the precise production of complex geometries, supported by washable support materials and high process reliability. This opens new opportunities for on-demand spare parts manufacturing as well as applications in defense, aerospace, industrial tooling, and rapid prototyping.

“The expansion of our cooperation with Synthene marks another important milestone in the continuous development of our additive manufacturing portfolio. By combining Synthene’s high-performance polyurethane technology with our expertise in additive manufacturing and Lynxter’s advanced printing technology, we are pushing the boundaries of what functional, production-ready parts can achieve – delivering greater speed, enhanced durability, and unprecedented design freedom,” says Dr. Johannes Martin, Market Manager Composites & Tooling at Biesterfeld.
