University of Sheffield, June 30th – July 2nd
Leading international and UK composites industries will participate with academic researchers at the 17th International Conference on Flow Processes in Composite Materials (FPCM’17) at the University of Sheffield from June 30th to July 2nd.
McLaren, GKN Aerospace, Syensqo, MTorres, Airbus, Rolls Royce, Sigmatex, Composites Integration, Arkema, AMIC and NCC will lead an innovative “Industry Day” at the AMRC – discussing the key gaps in understanding and simulating composites processes with academic researchers from over a dozen countries.
Delegates will also have an opportunity to visit the AMRC’s brand-new COMPASS facility, developed with Boeing, to investigate “Composites at Speed and Scale”.
The 3-day conference will take place at the University of Sheffield and will feature keynote presentations from researchers at the University of Delaware (USA), Columbia University (USA), Purdue University (USA) and the University of Bristol. There will be a full 2-day programme of research presentations in sessions covering Liquid Composite Moulding, Compression Moulding, Permeability Measurement, Computer-Controlled Processes, Materials Characterisation, Residual Stresses in Composites Manufacturing and Interfacial Issues.
FPCM’17 is the latest in a series of international conferences which started at Brunel University in 1988, with recent conferences being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE (2025), Purdue, USA (2023), Lulea, Sweden (2018) and Kyoto, Japan (2016).
Registration will include 3 days of presentations, discussions and poster sessions, the first two days at the main University Campus and the third day (Industry Day) at the AMRC.
A welcome reception will be held at Sheffield’s Winter Garden, and a conference banquet dinner at the world-renowned Cutlers Hall, celebrating the centuries-long manufacturing heritage of Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Delegate registration is open until June 14th and Composites UK members can avail of a special 10% members’ discount.
