Jonathan Howard Appointed Chair of Composites UK Construction Sector Group; Gavin Williams Named Vice-Chair

Composites UK, the trade association for the UK composites industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Howard, from Barclay & Mathieson, as the new Chair of their Construction Sector Group. In tandem, Gavin Williams of Engineered Composites Ltd has been appointed as Vice-Chair.

Jonathan Howard brings a wealth of experience from his role at Barclay Mathieson, where he has led numerous innovative projects utilising composite materials in the construction sector. His leadership and insight will be instrumental in driving forward the group’s agenda, promoting the use of composites in construction, and addressing industry challenges such as sustainability and regulatory compliance.

Gavin Williams, Vice-Chair and a key figure at Engineered Composites Ltd, has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the market dynamics and technical advancements within the composites industry. His collaboration with Jonathan Howard will strengthen the group’s strategic initiatives and foster closer engagement with stakeholders across the construction sector.

The Construction Sector Group within Composites UK serves as a dedicated platform for members to collaborate, share knowledge, and influence the development of the industry. With the new leadership, the group is set to intensify its focus on key industry challenges such as carbon data, FST and specification, as well as emerging trends and technologies, ensuring that the UK remains at the forefront of composite material adoption in construction.
