For a number of years, Orthotropic Engineering Ltd have been busy manufacturing, conditioning and testing a variety of composite materials to understand the effects of long-term seawater immersion on key performance indicators – with a focus on materials combinations most relevant to marine and offshore applications.

- Published data is available but this tends to be limited in scope, or even anonymised.
- Manufacturers datasheets rarely offer information in relation to long-term durability.
- A bespoke screening programme can add many months and significant expense to a project timeline.
